Landscaping for Scarborough's Big Lots and Sloped Yards
Scarborough yards come with room. Wide lots, long driveways, and backyards that drop toward the ravines and the Bluffs, and we build the walls, sod, and patios that put all that space to work.
Scarborough gives you something most of Toronto doesn’t, and that’s room. Lots run wide, driveways run long, and backyards keep going. The catch is the ground itself. Toward the Bluffs and along the ravine edges, plenty of that land sits on a slope, and a sloped backyard is space you look at instead of space you use. Rain drags the soil downhill a little more every year.
Retaining walls are the fix. A wall built with proper drainage holds the grade and turns a washed-out slope into flat, planted terraces. Most walls take a few days to a week, and some of our favorite reviews came from wall and pad projects. Once the ground holds still, the rest of the lot can earn its keep, with fresh sod across those big lawns and a patio where the yard finally sits level.
We’re a small, owner-run crew and we’ve been building yards like these since the fall of 2014. We work all over Scarborough, from the streets above the Bluffs to the blocks around Thomson Memorial Park and out toward Rouge National Urban Park. Quotes are free and visits are by appointment. Call, walk us through the yard, and we’ll figure out what the slope needs.

Scarborough questions
Our backyard slopes badly. Can it be fixed?
Usually, yes. A retaining wall with proper drainage behind it turns a slope into flat, usable space. On steeper grades we terrace instead, so you end up with planted levels rather than one tall wall.
How long does a retaining wall take?
Most walls take a few days to a week, depending on length and height. We give you the timeline with the quote, and the quote is free.
