Landscaping at the Ravine's Edge in Moore Park

Moore Park is one of the quietest corners of midtown, and the ravines are the reason. The neighborhood presses up against green on two sides, so plenty of backyards end at a wooded slope instead of a fence. Out front, it’s stately Edwardian houses with gardens that were established generations ago and are expected to stay that way.

The work follows the ground. Heritage-scale gardens need steady care through the season: pruning, bed upkeep, and lawns kept healthy under real shade. Slopes toward the ravine call for terracing, and a retaining wall on a grade is only as good as the drainage behind it, so we build that in from the first course. When stone goes in, we choose materials that sit comfortably beside a house from another era.
