Small-Lot Landscaping Done Right in East York

East York runs on small lots and practical houses. The streets off O’Connor Drive and north of the Danforth are lined with postwar bungalows and semis where a front yard might be a few strides deep. That size is an advantage. When every square foot has to earn its keep, getting each one right matters more, and that’s the kind of work we like best.

A small front garden done right changes the whole house. So does a new walk. Most homes here still carry their original concrete, and after decades of winters those walkways and porch steps are cracked, heaved, and patched. We replace them with interlock that rides out freeze and thaw instead of fighting it, and we build beds and plantings scaled to the lot rather than a shrunk-down copy of a big suburban yard.
